Photo Challenge!

I had so much fun with February’s photo challenge that I wanted to share with you some of my favorite photos from this month’s challenge. I loved seeing everyone take a moment out of their busy day to really appreciate the small things that often go overlooked. Here are some of my favorite photos shared throughout February.

If you didn’t get to participate and would like to, that’s great! We don’t have to be “friends” on Instagram for you to participate. As long as you use the photo challenge hashtag for each day you post, I’ll be able to see them. The more the merrier!

March photo-a-day challenge:

If you participate be sure to use #marpadchallenge each day. You never know, there might be something in store for those who participate daily! 😉

Until next time, xo!

Man Candy Monday (on a Friday)

If you’re an avid follower and reader of this random yet most of the time pointless blog, you know I don’t post many topics regarding the looks of men. Mainly because I have a very attractive, handsome boyfriend of my own and I am not one to gush over other men. However, iTunes radio has really been on point today. Some of my favorite men in the music industry have made this afternoon not too shabby (yes, my grin is as large as you’re imagining it to be).

So, I thought it’d be fun and different to post one of those typical ‘mcm’, “Man Candy Monday” posts but on a Friday.

When it comes to who I find attractive, some people agree and others don’t. It’s all a matter of personal preference and what you’re attracted to. I’m going to share some photos (all images were posted from Google, I do not claim rights to these photos) of the men who fit into my most attractive category and I would classify as a ‘mcm’, after my man of course.

L to R: Nick Jonas, Jason Aldean, Shemar Moore, Mark Wahlburg, John Driscoll
L to R: Adam Levine, Philip Rivers, Chris Soules, Kenny Chesney, Jeff Schroeder

Yes, they are mighty good looking and would fit my ‘mcm’ posts if I participated in them but the one that is my ‘mcm’ in reality is this handsome man right here. One of my favorite photos of him, love that face!

Who are some of you favorite ‘mcm’s? Are you familiar with mine?
Until next time, xo!

Package Arrival

Yesterday when I checked the mail I had a package from Japan. My excitement immediately grew because I knew exactly what it was. Last month I ordered a custom journaling Bible sleeve cover from Etsy. I have been anxiously waiting for it to arrive and I am more than in love with it.

April did an amazing job and I highly recommend her and her Etsy shop. You can access her shop page by clicking here: Marine Parents Etsy Shop

The specific print I chose is by Valerie Wieners and I chose a gold sparkle ruffle. Instead of explaining it, let me show you..

Isn’t it beautiful? I am so excited about it and couldn’t be more happier with it. I will definitely be ordering from April in the future. Have any of you began Bible journaling? I’d love to see your photos and experiences!

Until next time, xo!

Winter Wonderland

North Carolina has been declared a state of emergency but I consider it exciting. So beautiful. Thankful we still have power and praying for those who don’t. It started last night when we were leaving the grocery store and accumulated fast once it got into the early morning hours. Our biggest snow of the winter and we can’t wait to go play in it! Will share some more pictures later.

Hope you’re staying warm!

Update as of 9:30 Thursday evening.. we’ve built a snow cheerleader, had snowball fights, went sledding, and shared lots of laughs. It’s been an awesome day with such a beautiful snow. I do believe I got in my feel and I’m good for Spring now. Here are some more photos from today and a few short videos.

Quick Update

Maddie has done a good job of taking her medicine the last couple of day’s although she puts up a fight and isn’t a fan. She isn’t eating very much which saddens me. She has still been drinking water. I’m going to give her another day or so to try and get food in her system and if I can’t then we’ll be making a trip back to the vet. Prayers are still appreciated for my little fur baby.

The photo below is from yesterday when she was relaxing on the heating pad. In the photo you can see how her right nostril is still very full of cold and mucus mess. Breaks my heart.

Fur Baby Prayers

If you’re the praying kind, please say a little (actually big) prayer for my sweet fur baby. Last night when we got home she did not look good, she had a lot of mucus built up on her nose and around her face. You see, I’ve had my sweet Madison”Maddie” for over half my life. My mom believes she is 17 or 18 years old. She has lived a great and healthy life indoors despite having a heart murmur. We took her to the vet today and the prognosis right now is that she has a bacterial infection. The vet is worried she could have some sort of cancer or disease at her old age but we didn’t do X-rays or blood work today. We chose to go the antibacterial medicine route and will revisit in 10 days (or earlier if needed). She is my fur baby, been through so much with me and has always been right there by my side or in my lap. My daughter is 8 years old and is also very attached to her. When mini was little, Maddie would go and lay next to her as if she was protecting her. Please just take a moment and pray that these meds do the trick and she begins to heal, I’m just not ready to let her go to the rainbow bridge. I know it’s selfish but I want her to stay with us a little longer. Below is pictures of her from today at the vet, she looks so pitiful in them compared to her normal self. Thanks you for your prayers and I’ll be sure to keep you all updated!

Snow, sleet, cancelled school, oh my!

I didn’t think we were ever going to get snow this winter and I was right. We got all of an inch of snow and a lot of ice. Joyful, right? The kids have really enjoyed it, public school has been out the entire week. Still trying to figure that one out. We’ve gone to the store, practices, and school just fine. I hope for their sake they won’t have to make it up too much into their summer break at least.

But yes, we got some snow. Wahoo, it was beautiful while it was falling. Below are a tiny amount of pictures from our small amount of time spent in it. Have you seen any snow this winter? I would love to see pictures. Here in the south we don’t get very much and as you can tell, we shut down everything just if they call for it. On the news this morning they were saying it’s colder here than in Anchorage, Alaska. I was shocked, but it really is cold (for here anyways). The high today is a whopping 23 degrees and the low is 2. I haven’t ever in my life, ha.

Well, here are those pictures and I hope you’re staying warm where you are.

Until next time, friend!

Siesta Scripture Memory Team – Verse 4

Good morning followers, hope you all are doing wonderful. I am a bit behind as this has been one crazy week, I’ll be posting to tell you about it in bits and pieces when I have a few minutes. As you know, today is the 20th and if you’re participating in the Siesta Scripture Memory Team with Living Proof Ministries blog, you know that we are on our fourth verse of this memorization journey.

Each time I pick a verse, I have been trying to find one that speaks to me during whatever season I’m currently going through. The verse I’ve chosen this time is Psalm 139:14. Here are the two versions that I prefer:

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. -Psalm 139.14 NIV

I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. -Psalm 139:14 ESV

It’s so easy to get caught up in the conformations of the world and look at yourself through the standards of media. Trust me, I struggle with this fact daily, which is why I chose this verse. I need to remind myself of this every single day! However, we should all remember that we were created in God’s image and by his liking. He created us just the way he wanted us. No magic diet pill or surgery is going to make us the way he originally created us. We must first love ourselves. We have to remember that no matter what the media tells us, we are a one of a kind original. We were handpicked by God and altogether beautiful. Don’t allow yourself to be down, upset, or ashamed of who you are. After all, YOU are FEARFULLY and WONDERFULLY made. HIS works are WONDERFUL. You, my friend, are wonderful! Let’s remind ourselves of this and see ourselves the way God intended us to.

If you are an avid follower of my blog, you know that I have picked up Bible journaling for one of my resolutions to aid with me walk and relationship with Christ. Now that I’ve shared my selected verse with you, I want to share my Bible journaling entry with you regarding this verse.

For this entry I mainly used Crayola Twistables, Micron 03 & 05 pens, and Erin Condren fiber point pens. The tab is from a sticker sheet that I purchased at AC Moore. If you have any questions regarding my journaling Bible then I would love to answer. I really hope that through my Bible journaling experience, I can inspire someone else to begin Bible journaling.

Until next time friends!

Roses are Red, Violets are Blue

Happy Valentine’s Day!

My love surprised me with an early Valentine’s date night. We went and saw one of my favorites, Jason Aldean! I was totally excited. The show was awesome and we had a great time with great company.

He opened his Valentine’s present this morning and I’m taking him to see Between the Buried and Me, he is stoked. I am not a metal fan and will be way out of my element but for all the concerts he takes me to, I can go with him to one of his favorites. Not to mention I graduated with one of the band members so I’m hoping we’ll be able to get some pics with them.

I can’t wait for my sweet girl to open her present, she’s getting two more Frozen POP figurines, Elsa and Anna. She is also getting a gift card for her Kindle tablet. Mom score!

Yesterday her class held their Valentine’s party and I have been so excited to share with you this year’s DIY Valentine we made… School color friendship bracelets! Super huge hit.

Hope you all have a wonderful day and spend it with those who make your heart full and warm.

Siesta Scripture Memory Team – Verse 3

For those of you following along or participating in the Living Proof Ministries memory verse challenge, it’s time for a new verse!

Hope you’ve been successful in memorizing the other two verses you chose or even just the ones I’ve posted if you feel led to participate that way. Regardless, I hope you’re feeling a greater need or longing for more time in scripture, I sure have. I long for time to spend in prayer, even just to thank him for all he’s provided. I definitely feel both this SSMT and journaling Bible is deepening my relationship with God which is exactly what I want!

The verse I’ve chosen is Psalm 28:7. As always, I use my journaling Bible to illustrate my chosen verse.

Happy memorizing!
