Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work. -Thomas A. Edison
Find three hobbies you love. One to make you money, one to keep you in shape, and one to be creative.
Each year mini’s elf, “Elfie” makes his grand appearance and watches over so that he can report back to Santa on mini’s behavior. He always seems to be in such a great mood and sometimes makes quite a bit of a mess but nevertheless, he has fun. It’s our family tradition to get up each morning and see what that silly ole elf has gotten into this time. He’s been around for quite a number of years so you can only imagine the things he’s done. From zip-lining our living room using a candy cane, to flying in a hot air balloon, even bathing in Trix. This little elf can get into some mischief.
I have been told many times by family members and friends that in the month of December, they always look forward to our daily elf updates. That put the thought in my head to share them with others as well. So, I’m going to post an “Elf Update” each day with a picture of what Elfie has been up to. I hope that you’ll enjoy them as much as others do and maybe can share them with your little ones as well. I’ve got a feeling it’s going to be an exciting month.
Here’s to a magical, adventurous, and elftastic December!
It’s been awhile since I’ve shared my journaling Bible entries so what better time than now. I can’t take entire credit for the entry in the above picture because the idea and original proof came from Valerie Wiener’s Art. I found an image on Pinterest that she had done and I fell in love with it and the truth behind this particular verse. I attempted to free hand the picture and added some of my own parts to it.
I used Micron pens (.05 & .01) and Crayola twistables. The hedgehog paper clip I made using card stock, a pencil, scissors, a traditional school glue stick, paper clip, and hot glue. I have actually just started getting into the crafty paper clips. Here are the ones I’ve made over the last couple of days..
As I make more, I’ll continue to share them. For every one I’ve made so far, they all have been hand drawn and cut, no machine. Sorry the lighting isn’t the same in both, the last image was taken after the sun had gone down and there wasn’t that beautiful natural light like in the first one.
Hope y’all have a great weekend! Xo.
I made a couple trips to our local Hobby Lobby store this weekend and have so much to be a happy crafter about.. new washi tape, tab puncher, scrapbook paper, and stamps. I have seen people making their own Bible tabs and instead of purchasing a set on Etsy, I wanted to try and make my own. I haven’t started but I have stocked up on what I need to begin!
My obsession with washi tape is pretty obvious, although isn’t everyone? Okay, maybe it’s just me but how can you resist the tiny little prints that bring so much life to your planners and Bibles. Oh!! Side note, I purchased a new life planner by Erin Condren. I cannot wait for it to arrive, it’ll be my first EC planner and I will definitely be posting about that in the future. Back on track, my new stamps. Oh em gee, so cute! I purchased six new stamps because they were on sale for 50% off, we all know how expensive stamps can be. All of the ones I purchased dealt with photography in some way except for one, my mason jar. Totally precious!
Have you made any recent craft supply purchases? I’d love to hear about them and what your current go-to product is. Mine is obviously, washi.
Happy crafting! Xo.
